Really nice crowds. Let's hope this is one of the rare first stages that doesn't involve a crash in the finale.

I'll have you know Nicolas Edet is the current Veulta KOM holder. He'll be in polka dot at the end of today and might just, just, be able to hold off the Europcar trio for that jersey come Paris. :D

when you race a bike race in a new area and promote it well people come watch, crowds huge because the fact it advertises itself.

Good that yorkshire gets its own race out of this looks great for cycling

The countryside looks beautiful :) and large numbers at the start. But overall I'm just happy the race has finally started.
