Yarp, lots of people getting misled by the visual representation imo.

We'll have a lot of the stronger sprinters present if it's not won by a break today.

Greipel's my pick too.

Yes I got the scale wrong initially. The last climb is just a 200 metre altitude gain. I'm hoping a break can stay clear, but it has the look of a reduced peloton finish. Another chance for Sagan but he could find himself in a similar situation as yesterday. Trentin, Greipel in the mix today.

Cav can climb a bit - those hills don't look too hard. Talansky to push for a solo win to try and rescue Garmin's tour, Contador & Froome to stay with the main pack to the finish.

Good wind up. Andy to ride away on last descent.

Talanksky will not start today

@daniellloyd1: After his heroic ride yesterday, Talansky will not start today's stage, preferring to go home and recover from his injuries.

Looks like a bad joke. If this crash-rate continues Greipel will soon be favourite to claim Hautacam-stage.

 absolutelu NOTHING identical to stage 11

Yeh reached that conclusion 30 minutes after the original post yesterday afternoon but thanks for your concern a day later.

You must have been in a rush this morning and didn't get to page 2 of this thread.

Maybe next time read ahead a little before being so hasty to throw tomatoes ! ;)

Could Kittel hang on here?

That depends on the pace. If they crank it up, then he's probably off the back. Given that there are a lot of teams with lighter sprinters, they probably will try to distance him. So, probably not.

However, I think Giant might go for Degenkolb today, assisted by Tom Dumoulin on the climbs.

No chance. Either Cannondale but more like OPQS with Martin and Trentin will kill the peloton on last climb. They will do the same as in TDS this year when Trentin won.

Edit. This supposed to be comment to question whether Kittel can win or not

This.

I don't think Trentin will win, Degenkolb is faster than him. Sagan might have a shot, as he's probably not going to attack today.

One thing is sure we will see planty teams except main favourite (Giant) doing the the dirty job all stage long.
The first time we will see Giant in front will be after the last climb.

I hope they proove me wrong.

It wasn't heroic, just someone forced to do something against their will by an idiotic and cruel team. He clearly didn't want to do it and didn't think someone in his condition should be doing it and guess what, he was right that he was too injured. Garmin are dangerous morons.

This is in fact not true. In every flat stage so far Cheng Ji has ridden on the front to control the breakaway. I might be wrong, but last time I checked, he rode for Giant :)

If other teams are confident enough to take over with half their teams...well then that's their own fault. No?

Letour ticker says that Giant have already been on the front.

A disappointing break perhaps but it looks like the break will be caught today given that at least some of the sprinters should make it over the climbs. Better chance for a break tomorrow.
