This one has Kwiatkowski written all over itself. He'll do Sagan in on the ascent, same as this spring during Strade Bianche.

Just what the doctor orders for Sagan.

That should motivate the Wolverine.

Contador to attack on the final climb, Sagan follows him. They work together on the descent and Sagan gets the stage.

You heard it here first.

For sure. (that this stage has Kwia written all over it)

Did you notice that exchange of looks between him and Tony yesterday?

Guy's on top of the pedals at the moment.

Lo Squalo to make an attack on the last 500 meters of the last climb, to do a super descent and to get another stage win with 2 seconds advantage. :D

Well, Nibali did just that with Sagan on the Tour of Oman and last year's Tirreno Adriatico.

WWI is, with our war in Korea, largely forgotten in the US mass media/cultural imagniation, overshadowed by WWII and Vietnam. Shame, as The Great War teaches valuable lessons about the dangers of runaway nationalism and imperialist intervention.

From the original activist war correspondent:

My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.

Yep history is dependent on language and culture. Since English is dominant today, battles like Verdun or Operation Bagration in ww2 are little known, while the Somme and D-day are well known.

Good point. I did.
All the more chance now that Sagan's frustration seems to be consistently working against him.
Kristoff, though, gets better with every stage. Let's see.

It strikes me that the front of the peleton seems wider/broader than in many years.. So many teams are positioning at the front, both a mix of GC-teams and teams with possible stage winners..
It's not like the Postal years, or the recent Sky years and it is probably the result of a new way to race that Saxo opened up last year with their team attack in the crosswinds..
I know it's not a brand new thing but certainly they ride differently than we've seen most of the last decades..

I really like this development as it adds to the diversity of the race..

I know that the water was coloured yellow to denote the jersey but it did just look more like a fountain of urine taken from doping control.

Let us hope that. A very active Squalo during first week is basically a good thing for the race and GC-overall.

Alexandre Vinokourov: "It would be ideal to give the jersey away"

Questioned in the race by France Televisions, Astana's team manager Alexandre Vinokourov said: “We've got the lead with Vincenzo Nibali. The team has done the maximum and given 100% up to now. Today the stage is long so it's important to keep as much strength as possible. It would be ideal to give the yellow jersey away but we're not going to brake. It was a huge emotion to keep the yellow jersey on the cobblestones against Cancellara and Sagan. There are another two weeks of racing. Many things can happen.”

If any riders urine was that colour, i suspect they would be rushed straight to A&E
