Besides Wiggins being crap at the moment and Machado being on the rise? Nothing.

You didn't watched Trentino then? He was already 11th at Monte Bondone, after battling with the better GC guys for most of the climb.

Based on that perfomance, and his overall year (which is good), he is no way going to get dropped by Ten Dam (who's got a best result of 17th in a Tour of Romandie stage) and Machado.

Just wait for it. ;)

Ten Dam and Machado dropping Wiggo, on a climb?

What have i missed the last years?
Perhaps this stage:

And the fact Wiggins is no longer as good climber as he was in 2012.

But in this kind of races it's very much about the current form so anything can happen. ;)

Garmin has an interesting roster here, but the form of most of these guys is uncertain at best. :( Danielson and Acevedo don't seem to be anywhere as strong as last year and Morton's recent performances were horrible.

Per request I made all the images smaller to accommodate those with smaller screens.

And yet, my screens is still to small! :( But I'm not concerned about it. ;)

Really hope to see Dombro do something, hopefully his knee is better. Haven't taken a close look at the startlist yet though, will have to do that later.

Mountain High.

Looking forward to this. We have Sagan v Cav for the flat stages and then we get to see if Wiggo can continue his form too by climbing better. It will be a good test against Ten Dam, Machado ect.

Really hope the Yates bro's make this as Adam could really do something again on those 2 MTF's.

Wiggo didn't even participate:).

Wiggins is building to his best climbing form, because i think he will be the surprise in the Tour (being a podium candidate). Wiggins in good form is better than LTD on a climb.

If Ten Dam was able to outclimb Contador, Quintana and Rodriguez on a first serious mountain stage of their main goal of the season race, then it's just silly to even suggest he would be unable to outclimb Wiggins in a race that isn't his main goal.

I'm not saying what the outcome will be in Callifornia, but I find it just silly to suggest it's beyond Ten Dam's capabilities.

Wiggo has been just gaining weight to perform better in Roubaix and flat TTs, I don't think he is willing to lose his weight again in order to be that strong in mountain.

The climbs should be good fun considering that a) Sky's team in Cali is not strong enough to control things b) the climbers will probably have to attack early to put pressure on Wiggins and to gain back enough time after the TT.

In theory at least...

I think what'll be decisive for Wiggo is his weight. If he's lost weight since the spring classics, he might stand a chance uphill. On the other hand, Roubaix hasn't even been a month, so at the most he's lost 1-2kg. Even if he is in form, lightweights Ten Dam and Acevedo will still probably outclimb him.
He should still be able to get a lot of time in the TT though.

Shows that you didn't read the interviews during the year with Wiggo. California is the biggest goal of Wiggo in the first part of the season.

Also not true. Now Wiggo is busy to lose weight, to be in top shape in the mountains for this event. Look at Trentino, were he was one of the better guys on Bondone, a heck of a climb, in a field which is better than then California.

Nobody who looks at his results at Tirreno on the climb? If you don't do that, you can not judge his chances for this race.

Will Wiggins have the support though in the mountains? Garmin and the others will be active and of the front attacking him particularly if he beats phinney to take the jersey after the tt

OK, maybe I was wrong on some points, but my main point was that Ten Dam should be capable of outclimbing Wiggins based on results from last 1,5 years (doesn't mean it will happen in a given race) and I maintain main opinion.

But if you say you base that fact on results from the past 1.5 years, you compare him with a Wiggins who's climbing was not as good as it just to be.

I rather compare a TD on his best climbing form with a Wiggins at top level. And the last one was as good on the climbs as the likes of Nibali in the Tour '12.

This is it for me. Sitting here listening to 'Starman' by Bowie with a bottle of Red inside me I read this forum and I feel like I am being told my woman has left me. But I just can't accept it. If Wiggo doesn't podium then I am truly alone. :(

Dunno about co-leadership but it will be nice to at least see him battling for the ITT with Tony Martin and Taylor Phinney.
