I wondered that too and I'm sure it is. I've seen wind stages in uruguay go well over 50, but 57!!

c'mon that site is wrong
the stage was 142 km and not 185:)

they say 46 km/h average

El promedio final de marcha superó los 46 kms a la hora y por momentos en la ruta los relojes se rompían. Imposible establecer una diferencia por delante del pelotón por lo tanto, las incidencias que se vieron resultaron inocuas.

today was the fastest ever imo. but i would like to be sure...

a quick calculation gave me an average of 56.8 km/h for this stage :eek::eek:
Apparently the riders finished over 20mins earlier than forecast and the caterers etc hadn't finished setting everything up for the riders!

I watched him race 1.5 weeks ago here locally. Despite being a really windy day, he was in a break of 4 doing 48-51km/h laps. The thing that impressed me the most though was that he looked like he was on a Sunday recovery ride. Anyway even if he has had some minor help from the wind here I believe that ride signals that Hepburn is going to have a very bright future on the road.

Was that Murrarie or Nundah? One thing I hated about crits in Brisbane over the summer was turning up for A grade and seeing the likes of Hepburn, McCarthy, Cantwell and Rudolph signing on. Never a fun race when they turned up :D

Boonen is going the the TdF to be Cav's lead out man, btw.

I wonder what does Boonen think about new MSR route.
His form looks sharp enough for a shot at it.
He complained about the new course, about the organizers wanting to make it a Tour of Lombardy clone, a LBL clone,... while there's nothing wrong with a race with it's own character...

I understand Boonen. Must be frustrating that he hasn't won it, and with the new route probably never will.

Crosswinds again?
Yes, but this time they will be going into a wind more often than having it helping them. The course turns and has 2 laps at the end so there are certainly chances that the peleton will be split.

4-man break, Devolder, Isachyev, Schorn & Gretsch. No danger to GC. Will take the sprint bonuses away from the pack. Good for Terpstra.

25k 2:50 is that correct? If Lotto/Katusha/FDJ don't start really working, break will make it. OPQS seems happy to let the break stay away
