The level of that Vuelta was horrible comparing to this year. He could attack there and wasting his energies.

But now he's up against Froome, Contador, Aru, Valverde. Every waste of energy can be vital.

And he is in way, way better form now then in that Vuelta. He even had a hard Tour in his legs then:eek:

Fair points.

That was a weak vuelta field, this is a very strong vuelta field even if not all the riders are quite at their best. Frank Schleck was the strongest rider that day, not very often he has been the strongest rider on a GT mountain stage.

Crazy! Highlights just ain't the same. In an ideal world at weekends they should show stages from the start, all that action that gets missed.
Anyway for today I feel Froome will put time into his rivals, how much I really don't know but maybe 20seconds plus. Alberto will have to work hard today.

I was just about to say the same thing, it looks like ToB is live with Vuelta highlights on at 5pm.

Gutted. Might as well go out myself as there's no point in watching so much of the TOB's first stage, oh and the suns out:cool:

Today or tomorrow I'm expecting Rodriguez and KAT to do something, but most likely tomorrow. They have no choice. Perhaps it's a good day for the faves to be glued to Froome's wheel, and just watch him.

Weren't Contador and froome the ones who were gonna get exposed more than a week ago?

You don't know what you're talking about, purito will never do a long range attack, he never did it in his life in a GT when there's a podium on the line.

So Purito doesn't have the ability to climb with Contador, but Aru does?

Have you watched this Vuelta actually?

I said Contador has no problem for the GC with Purito and Valverde. I didn't say he doesn't have the ability to climb with Contador. Have you watched this Vuelta?

LOL it is WEG (World Equestrian Games) final day. WEG is every 4 years like the Olympics. Germans are expected to be medalists in the final highest class ; the one that decides World Champion for the next 4 years.

Here in the US we only get delayed WEG coverage on the same channel that has La Vueta Live!!!!

I will not make any predictions for the stage today, as usual. Hopefully Alberto rides strongly and his team doesn't disappear to soon.......

Your right, the predictions on this forum (especially during GT's i might add, seem to range from the sublime to the ridiculous). Its frigging nonsense talk.

Its mostly made up from wishful thinking so no need to give it too much attention. Some of cyclings fanbase has also inherited much of the brainless mob we see making predictions before football tournaments were a favorite for the win is always as good in the eyes of these zombies as the last game they've played. Hence if they play bad or lose they will soon lose the favorite tag - only to end up as winners to the zombies dismay and rage. :D

Beautiful place. Another Asturiano, Navarro, for the win again? Which brings me to Evans...I wonder if he's gonna help Sanchez today....for a change.

He's taking a rest to help him better later on

But what does Aru got GC-wise which Purito and Valverde doesn't have?

2011 Giro Stage 15, the massively hard stage to Gardeccia which Neive won from the break ahead of the charging Contador who got third. Contador attacked for the very reduced peloton near the top of Passo Gaiu. However Rodriguez and Arroyo had already made a move and were a bit ahead. Rodriguez was going for a long attack then although he was further down in 11th going into that stage. He probably was going for the stage win not for the GC but he did end up 5th in that Giro (4th when Contador was removed).

However I agree than Rodriguez is not going to attack from a long way out.
