The weakness of Tinkoff Saxo is evident with Contador having to exert effort to get back on to Movistar's wheels. His so-called climbing domestiques are no where to be found.

Dan Martin has a problem if the pace doesn't slow down

According to (French) Eurosport guys he is 1'30 down , it will be difficult for him especially if Movistar goes fast in the descent :(

dammit.

and he was going so well.

freakin' garmin have had the worst luck since martin won LBL last year. hesj, martin and talansky all getting sick or crashing multiple times at times they were expected to have "breakthrough" perfs.

Anyone have any insights on the descent off this cat 2? Technical and narrow roads, or nah?

I cycled it a year ago. It's narrow with a few very steep switchbacks about half way down. Quite gentle gradients though so you can normally recover a bad line. Loads of cow s**t on the road as well which could be dangerous in the wet.
