I don't think Degenkolb will win the stage. Without Bouhanni, I think we will see it more chaotic and someone else will get up.

But yeah, bring on Thursday and Friday's stages which will go to successful breakaways.

I'm happy with something different than another dull-ish uphill finish.
If the roads are narrow and twisty, there seems to be enough hills to make a race.

Looking forward to it and hopefully the riders will use the terrain.

Soft winds in the weather forecast. I hope they fail like today.

Other than crosswinds making trouble, this one seems destined for the sprinters.

Boonen looking better and better. Wonder if he can nab one from Degenkolb with the rain as an ally.

My only hope for tomorrow's stage is that Purito beats Kennaugh in the face...

Why? I like Purito, but he does seem to have walloped Deignan one and his "it was an accident" defence doesn't sound very credible. I'd expect Sky riders to be unimpressed with him.

I don't get the "coward" part though. After all, he did hit a rider who is a fair bit bigger than him and who has a bit of a boxing background. It's not exactly picking a fight with Bouhanni, but for someone Purito's size just about anyone must be a tricky proposition.

I don't think he is being called a coward for hitting Deignan but he is being called a coward for refusing to own up to it and instead lying about it. Rodriguez should have just shut up about the incident.

That is pure speculation. All I see, are two SKY riders acting very unprofessional.
Deignan with his trash talk about how he considered cornering him and Kennaugh raging and calling him a coward - atleast he could confront Purito instead of using the social media as a mud-throwing platform

I suggest reading a bit more closely. That he hit Deignan is not "speculation". We have Deignan's direct account and confirmation from Katusha.

Purito says that he hit him, but did so by accident. Now we do have to speculate to evaluate whether Purito's explanation stands up, although I'd suggest that we don't have to speculate very far as the accidental punch on moving bicycles theory inherently lacks credibility. Further, Deignan has no reason to make up a story as embarrassing as "I got punched in the face by a midget", while Purito does have a reason to disclaim responsibility.

reading their messages,i think purito would most likely beat these two guys in a fight.

The only people over the age of six years old who Purito should be backed against in a fight are Pozzivivo and Samuel Dumoulin. Dwarf wrestling.

Can Kenny Elissonde join the party?

This is one of my farourites stages of this year.
Quite long, close to the seaside, possible wind or rian, lot of smal climbs, and a clle section that is not very hard, but narrow and close to the sea.
