i would say contador wasn't fully commiting thinking valverde was going to easy up. but valverde held onto the attack longer than expected so it looked like contador was struggling.
it's like not properly getting into gear.
don't think he was properly troubled

Nice attack. I like that Valverde actually maintained the high pace for so long. AC didn't look troubled to me though
