Greenedge deserved that. Good effort by Bouhanni.

Exactly. I started to be quite sorry for them as they all disappeared in the end from the front. And suddenly Metthews was there in the end. Nice win.

In pink and red this year. Impressive.

Come on give him a break, he's probably riding with a semi-healed fracture and I'm not even a fan.

I'm not dissin' him or anything, of course he is not in shape to compete for the victory. I was just reacting to someone who said that he looked good, because honestly there is no chance that he will be in the mix in gc.

Contador sprinted a bit like on Montevergine di Mercogliano:D

I remember how people were considering that a bad sign.

It's obvious he's here for GC and not for a stage win, he barely lost any time. Now survive until rest day. If he's not behind more than 1 minute on quintana at that point i'm pretty sure he'll be a happy man.

Contador didn't lose time?

I'm a Contador fan but that's bs.

Contador clearly lost 5 sec LOL I bet that if that was froome he would have lost 5 sec, oh well i won't complain.

Valverde definitely had some problems with his crash. Normally he's always well placed. Finishing 39th isn't good at all.

Contador closed down a big gap when the whole peleton was stretched out and lost a lot of places when everything got back together

Great effort by Bouhanni to be up there with mostly climbers. He seems to be in as good as form, if not better, than he was in the Giro - could easily pick up 3 or 4 stages here and have a shot at the World Champs if he can maintain it.

This is how you start an anonymous GC campaign.

Weird mixture.

It's nice to have something like this once in awhile in GT, although Vuelta is always the likeliest, with route, forms, and riders composition as factors.

You can't enter a race during the period of one that you were already entered, so if he does two weeks here, he can't start any races until the Vuelta finishes.

You can occasionally get special dispensation, for example Cavendish got to ride the Tour of Britain a couple of years ago after crashing out of the Vuelta in week 1, because the Tour of Britain started the day the Vuelta finished and he had already been out of racing for two weeks at that point. If Sagan crashed out now, maybe he could get that dispensation. If he is in the race for two weeks, he more than likely wouldn't.

good to know. thanks.
