Just re-watched finish of stage 2 and if I can see correctly, Ahlstrand and Giraud cut last corner before the barriers through grass (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EG9ddwrs60 0:55). Is that even allowed? It was not like they had to avoid anything, just took it as a shortcut. If in line with rules, then it was very clever from them and basically Ahlstrand won thanks to that move.

Nothing wrong with that. They simply used the road and there were no barriers or whatever to indicate they weren't allowed to.

Just saw the final kms of stage 3. Very exciting finish. Antomarchi had everything under control but then messed it up a bit in the final 500m.
