Chaves led Poels the entire last k', so he deserved it anyway. 20 spectators or so in the final.

Lol, that was kinda funny. And a bit sad.

Although I don't agree with those who said Poels had it in the bag, Chaves hadn't given up yet and Poels mainly got a gap because Chaves understood he had too high speed to make it through the corner.

What kind of logic is that? Poels was chasing by himself last 5k to catch up to him..they were both riding individually.

Unlucky for Poels, but pretty amusing. Looked to me like rider error, trying to pedal while banked over so sharply, so he's only got himself to blame really.

Pleased for Chaves but Poels fought hard to get back up there, was strongest at the finish and didn't deserve to crash.

Poels was playing it great in a two up, he's a better sprinter than Chaves.

That's true, Chaves definitely slowed for the corner a lot earlier than Poels.

He kind of did deserve to crash (as much as anyone can ever deserve it). It looks like he hit his pedal on the road, because he took the corner too fast while still pedaling. 100% rider error by the looks of it.

He'd of wanted to gap Chaves to avoid having to contest the intermediate sprints tomorrow.

Hmm, think I wasn't clear. Poels was on Chaves' wheel the entire last k' until he attacked. My point is that I can't feel super-super sorry for Poels, and that Chaves is a fitting winner too.

And by ''he deserved it anyway'' I don't mean Poels crashing, obviously.

Sure Poels was forced to chase down every single move for 10km, but he followed Chaves wheel for 300m after finally catching him, so you know uhh he was wheelsucking or something.

A win is a win. Chaves crossed the line first, well deserved. Poels made a mistake with cost him, end of story.

Oh good. Now we're treated to hilarious references to Froome's "terrible" bike handling.

Poels might even be better in terms of helping Froome than Thomas.

Same way of riding and both look like humanoid crane flies. I bet they will share the same progam next year.

It indeed gets old and proven to be very wrong as well.
