Benoot involved in a crash. Theuns also went down, though nothing too serious.

Haas should really be winning these sprints. Hmm. Did a lot of work beforehand.

Viviani! got Greipel's wheel after Soudal came to the front with 1.7km to go. Very messy leadout.

Same tactic they used in the Giro. Just get him to the final 1.5km and then let him follow wheels. It's a definite tactic, whether it's a good one is still to be decided.

Greipel didn't look good, very passive as well. Lost the wheel of his train multiple times. Decompression after the Tour I guess.

Yeah Viviani just said this in the interview. Fenn's job is to get him to the final km and let him take the best wheel. Which I guess is the best thing to do when your support is Sutton and Fenn.

Those 3 intermediate sprints in 1km was a pretty cool idea. Not sure if that is the tradition in this race but it would be nice to have something like that in some big races like TdF.

They came up with the idea for the Baloise Belgium Tour earlier in the year.

Ouch. Luke Rowe has an English flag next to his name.
And so does Andy Fenn.

This intruiged me as it seems to me that he was always described as English in everything I read. It turns out that indeed Fenn rode in the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and 2014 for Scotland, since he has a Scottish mother (he was born in Hertfordshire). Obviously, I don't pay attention to who takes part in the Commonwealth Games ;)

British people with parents from different constituent countries is tricky when it comes to sport.

It was a strange sprint in a couple of ways.

True. Greipel was way off his train, but the guy on his wheel won. Thus obviously Greipel wasn't at 100%.

Etixx sets up a train behind Lotto and then what? Why?
