Too bad the hat trick in the WC final by Lloyd didn't earn her the golden boot. Sasic's hat trick against Ivory Coast in a 10-0 mauling was too much of a headstart to overcome. Hard to believe this is the same USA team that played Sweden and didn't look like they could put a shot on goal.

I didn't watch both games entirely, but it could be explained by Sweden's good defence (see the u21 mens final) and Japan's disorganization and lack of motivation after their undeserved win aganist England.

The US team also appeared to get better with each game.
