! When Murali submitted his team, fairly early, he said that he would have little chance to visit the forum for a couple of weeks. His team included Eros Capecchi, who was then listed to ride, and he has been unable to reply since being alerted to this. As Capecchi was the cheapest rider from his team, and his replacement was dearer, a strict application of the rules would mean I would give him Carretero. However, he could afford another Movistar rider: Dayer Quintana (5 points dearer than Capecchi). I have decided that it is more sporting to make that switch on his behalf. Quintana Jnr was not an outstandingly popular pick for other teams, so I don't think I am giving him a vastly unfair advantage: if Murali wins and you consider this unjust, blame me.

Otherwise, every team was on budget and only eligible riders first time: well done all.

Porte clearly preferred over Uran. Not how I see it, but we'll see. Surprised by the few Zakarin picks, was in doubt but decide he wasn't worth the risk, as 3 weeks is a long time and it's his first time to test himself in this kind of race. Pozzovivo chosen a lot, I think he's just 'cheap' compared to other potential high scores, so his possible return rate is high.

Reason I didn't pick Contador: if he comes first, and Porte/Uran comes second, Contador has a slightly better return per cost. But the thing is, Contador can also do wórse. So can Porte/Uran, bet they can even do better. The potential is higher for those two, relative to their cost. And about Uran vs. Porte, I just doubt Porte's concistency, but after all much can happen. Looking forward!

More like 50 points short actually, which isn't even one third of your cheapest rider. So not really that big of an expense. But I admit, it will possibly be 50 points flushed down the toilet. Then again, íf he decides to go for it, even in one stage, and het ends up top 3 or something, that's enough to make him valuable.

Also, I'm pleased with my unique pick Chevrier. Very young, doesn't have to work for anyone and can just test himself. I think he'll return all of his points.

The amount of points left unspent in teams' budgets vary from zero to about 60: around 20 is typical. Unless teams started off with a determination to include Betancur, or any other rider, as if it were a matter of principle, then presumably they looked at what the remainder of their budget could have bought them if any given choice were discarded. So if you have say 65 points left after buying 8 riders, then I guess it is hard to see anyone else affordable with much more potential. Not that I chose him mind...

Down in the rankings, only able to go up now. With my team, it'll last until the tough stages before I can do so. I hope Pozzovivo has had his share of bad luck, if the only thing he loses is 1 minute it won't matter that much, but if he's injured, that's a lot of points gone.

Game-wise, good that Modolo didn't pick up at least 40 points here, which he probably would've. Still, as a fan I want him to win some stages. Well, this way I'm always happy: either he wins, or I'm happy I didn't pick him
