Nippo-Vini Fantini riding to save a final top10 GC placing for Cunego. There are some riders in the break (Niemiec, Kruijswijk,...) that can move up on the GC and be dangerous for a top10. Hope I'm wrong but I think this is the reason for the pulling.

Normally Kruiswijk is always good at the end of a GT. So you can count on him being quite good during the 3rd week. That's why it's neccesary he joins breakaways in the first week to reduce his losses if he wants a good GC. Hey maybe he wins a stage that way. Sitting in the wheels all day you won't win a thing... well unless you are a sprinter or Gerrans..

Nippo want to make Contador suffer.

suffer?

Contador has take 2 second in an intermediate sprint, is he really suffered or the other riders? Maybe he his totally ok.

Helping Saxo??

No, doing his race for the stage win

better or worse, I do not understand why he sprinted. The other day he wanted to give away the jersey.

His team is not going to work to keep the jersey, but top put 2 second to his rivals is important.

Probably to have a cushion in happening of a mountainsprint (where Aru has the upper hand) and that this breaks survives of course.

But graphics showed that the standings are still 2 secs so i dunno if this is right.

So Nippo is riding but the gap stays constant. I don't trust this GPS, or Nippo really sucks.

For 2 sec ?!
When they are only in 8 stage and the decisive stages are ahead

if it loses a minute on the final climb , that are 2 sec?! bah

It can't really hurt having a buffer on your opponents..

I think it's the only reason. Aniway if Aru wins , Berto will loose equally the pink. 2 seconds or not

Deal with Oleg seems most likely to me. Why would you take over the peloton and keep the same pace.

Porte is on mission today. Looks like he has been managing to keep his recovery/distraction not being distracted w/ press conference...

Nippo may have done a deal with Oleg

Maybe Cunego wants in the top 10 in the GC or he's targeting the stage win.
No way he can stage now.

I'm not sure the gaps can be trusted.
True but he's not got that much in him to pull a feat like that off. Sure he's riding well but I think it's beyond his capability. If other teams close gap to around 4 minutes before final climb then anything is possible.

The assumption for this giro is that the GPS info is off. I think the only reliable information it gives us it that there are gaps between the break and the peloton.

When it gets up to over 10 minutes the break will be pulled back immdiatly!
