Prevent a similar attack by Aru, who would like to start ITT in red jersey (start last). Really a great little attack, caught Aru off guard, prevented an attack in descent. Aru is surely not Nibali. Poor performance non just because he lost contador wheel for some meteers but because he was last to see it (even after Porte).

Who was the Movistar guy following Contador's attack? Lobato? or Amador? Didn't look like Visconti and definitely not Izaguirre.

Well, trying? Racing? How bout that?

What is the point to breakaway in a flat stage? Rhetorical.

Pointless response. Gee really? They're racing? You really don't see why I wonder why he's attacking with a few meters left on a small climb from a giant group where all his rivals have teammates to chase down attacks?

Maybe stalk someone else and look less dumb.

Greetings back. You got your responses from others too (& various reasons why he did attack), so the one looking dumb is you as you know!
If you make arrogant remarks in a open forum, live with the flak you get in response. :p

It's true that responding to stalkers is never a good idea. My mistake.

Contador just wanted to show Aru who is the boss. He will have the psychological advantage in the coming stages.

When was the last time in a grand tour we had this many wins from the morning breakaway, and it's only stage 11.
That's 6 wins for the break from 10 road stages.

All that Zakarin needs is a higher cadence and it will truly be Froome 2.0

The media will never buy him as a clean winner.
Unless of course he changes his name to Ian Zachary. Then he's a champion of clean cycling

Lol that Zakarin is clean. He so druggd he has yellow eyeballs :D
Well, still more believable as Hejsedal 2012.

Great win for Zakarin, didn't expect him in this stage. He had this in the bag on the moment he attacked.Really looks like an improved Froome version.
And therefore he'll succeed where Froome failed, Zakarin to win the Vuelta, I'm calling it right now! :D

An intelligent response. Thank you. Sincerely.

Betancur was good today...cannot wait until he gets a full season under his belt where he is totally committed...he's a guy who could do a Giro-Tour double in the future.

I've enough of Uran now...might as well retire. Failure.
Cycling, a sport where a large contingent of troglodytes still sees flashes of brilliance as surefire success, and grit and determination as abject failure. God I enjoyed it when Sastre won the Tour. In any case I'm really happy for la Ronca.

Going to be a lot more. Wouldn't surprise me if tomorrow goes to the break as well. Massive BMC/OGE fail today. Don't see them getting it right tomorrow. OGE have no reason to do anything with the success they have had. Massive sprint team fail the day before. If strong guys get into the break, like today, it won't be brought back. Teams don't have the legs/co-operation with other teams to bring it back.

When the race hits the Dolomites, the breaks are going to feature strong climbers and they are going to be hard to bring back. Only Astana and Sky would be interested in bringing breaks back for time bonuses, but Sky won't be strong enough and Astana can't keep it up. I would say there's at least 5 more stages where someone from the morning breakaway takes the win.

I was hearing it was Lobato. I think Caruso, Uran and Matthews were the only other ones responding.

Betancur might win a stage in a few days and he will not have to cross the line first.
Take it to the clinic.
