People relax, Contador isn't going all out, he's going at a measured pace so he can be fresher than them at the top. If he'd slowed down to wait for them, it would be more tiring than this steady pace to the top.

I hope Contador is getting a nice training ride, because if he's going all out just for revenge, he's an idiot. He doesn't need the GC time, and he's very unlikely to catch the break for a stage win.

Really, really, really don't understand everyone here praising him. Strategically, this appears to be a very dumb thing to do.

I'll eat some of my words if he wins the stage, but if he doesn't, this will come back to haunt him at the TDF. And right after he said every move had consequences.

Thanks for this, MI - I thought I was going crazy for thinking exactly this.
