If Bongiorno went with Gilbert he would have won. Poor guy! Hopefully he makes amends on Saturday winning via the break.

Contador gap closing down. If he doesn't gain a minute, THEN we can say the attack was foolish.
whatever the gap he's broken all his rivals today. why even bother attacking him now?

Why is Katusha being domestiques for Astana?
Did you see stage 16?

Yes, but I don't see why they work now. Aru is their target not Conrador
Well, it's pretty clear Astana are taking up the mantle of tactically awful team, just like Sky. And Katowa just following along I suppose. It's all about watts and power meters now, forget about racing sense! :D

He would have distanced him on the 5% rise 2km out.

Another big day for Gilbert. Not sure how much Contador is going to get, in the end. Under a minute, for sure?

Cause everybody knows Gilbert will be distanced on a 2km 5% section, when his favourite hill is Cauberg

Lots of people missed the opportunity to hurt Astana today.

Yeah, I really don't get why everyone was riding so meekly at Kangerts pace. Climb was hard enough for groups to be smaller than 20 guys

Well done Gilbert.

Contador proves his greatness, 6 minute win looking highly likely.

Hesjedal wonderful ride today, it is days like this that makes him seem like a less strange GT winner.

Weird timing for Eurosport to start their post race coverage, can we at least wait for the GC contenders to come in without distracting us with split screens and Juan Archer commentary?

Contador: Able to close the gap on the worst mountain in the Giro.
Landa: Not able to close the gap on a lesser mountain.
