It was hardly his decision, it would have been the plan from the team. And he did do something, he contributed to the winning the TTT team, not as much as others in the team I am sure, but he was there until the end taking his turns.

I can't stand Gerrans either but I think some of the hate he gets stems from hypocrisy.

Not enthusiastic about the prospect of Bling getting the maglia rosa either, tbh.

I dont think he has ever worn the pink jersey before. And as the team's talisman, it was probably appropriate for him to wear it. It will definitely pass to Matthews on stage 2 like Impey wore it in TDF. Based on that i dont think he is that selfish to deny his teammates from wearing the jersey once in a while
