As someone mentioned, it's very hard to attack and stay away with 4 km to go and a peloton of this size. I do agree that BMC's tactics were very weird though. They had Bookwalter and Dillier in the break and Gilbert and GVA in the peloton, yet they made Bookwalter take all the turns? We like GVA because he doesn't wait.But I agree with the above poster as well. GVA would win so many races if he was smart. Unfortunately for him and fortunately for us, he isn't.
But Gibert was leading the peloton to chase him down. This is stupid tactics from BMC. Yet again they sent out someone, but did not trust the breakaway.
