Just a theory but what if Stannard didn't fancy it today? And the Sky ploy was to use him as a decoy knowing that if he got in a break with the big favourites, the others would either follow or work to try and keep it going, thus spending their energies. Sky then work to bring it back to set up someone else?

Or just dud tactics?
