I'm puzzled. Surely Sky had a 1 in 5 chance of a Viviani win from a select sprint group, now they have the whole peloton to contend with and all the sprinters that go with it ???

Must have a lot of faith in Viviani to beat all comers then.

Viviani needs good leadout, he could find a way to mess things up without it.

I assume it's because they can give a better lead out for Viviani with a full team. Cav would have been hard to beat with the number of Steppers in the front group.

Maybe they have faith in their lead out abilities rather than Viviani's savvy, which isn't a bad bet. He's fast, but a little reckless on his own.

EDIT: Ditto Mayomaniac and JRanton

Fair points made about a Sky sprint train rather than Viviani alone up against Cav in a small group with some of Cav's team mates.

Luke Rowe going very strong so will be a valuable asset for Viviani too.

I'm not quite so confused now, but it's just that Sky have a history of odd tatics, especially when it comes to classics.

Gilber is going to have a good season this year. Might be one of his last good seasons before he retires
