Viviani probably the strongest sprinter there, came from Lobato-distance back.

Tbf, Viviani was on Cav's wheel and Cav was pretty much the same distance back from Kristoff. Viviani's pretty much been equal to Cav whenever they've sprinted against each other. Shame we won't see Viviani getting a proper leadout if he does get a place on the Sky train at the TdF

Yes... Sky came into the front way too early. In the end Viviani was in a bad position, but made the best out of this situation.

**** it Kristoff not good enough today, decent sprint from Viviani.Etixx got their revenge today.

Kristoff did everything he could. He just won't match up against Cavendish in this kind of finish.

Viviani was out of position before 300m to go, but found the easy line to get into Cav's wheel with 150 to go. If he was in fact faster, there was enough space to get around him.

What was that comment by Cav about Wilfred Peeters not thinking he could do it?

Interesting Cavendish saying Peeters didn't believe he could make the first group if QS split it up.

Cav and Peeters almost never share the same opinion. They also had some dispute in 2013 and since then Cav mostly rides with Holm or Bramati as DS. :D

I said he was strongest (making up that deficit with 300 to go), not that he was the fastest to the line. But yes, if you had timed the last 300m, Viviani was fastest over that distance.

It doesn't matter who was fastest over the first, last or any other 300m stretch, if they don't cross the line first!
A great victory for Cav.
Take that & stuff it into your pipes Cav haters!:)

Well, there wasn't much more we could ask for given the circumstances. From the run-in to the Kwaremont till everything came back together, it was an entertaining race. From that moment until 5 km from the finish, it was obvious nothing would happen so there was also no point watching it.

Some of us like to draw conclusions from the race other than those that can be derived from reading the results. That does not make us fans or haters of anyone, except of the sport.
