Terpstra got the best result he could. Kristoff was unbeatable.

He didn't have to work with one of the best sprinters in the world. Could easily have allowed the bunch to reform when he saw Kristoff on his wheel and then tried to attack again on the Kwaremont.
You are right, because in a bunch sprint Terpstra had better chance.

People really love to jump on the Quickstep hatewagon. Terpstra did nothing wrong, he got the best result he possibly could.
Finally some sense.

I don't like Terpstra at all. But there wasn't much he could've done differently. Clearly Kristoff was stronger on the Pater.. an attack would have done nothing

Definitely.

One of the most idiotic rides I've ever seen from Terpstra. Should hae stopped working as soon as he saw Kristoff was on his wheel.

Etixx find a new way to fail with every race. Credit ti Kristoff though for taking full advantage.
No one could have thought Kristoff not dropped by Terpstra on the cobbles. You could look at a couple pages back on this thread. So, I guess Terpstra was not that idiot at all. Now, he knows and of course not do it in PR

True. The strongest rider won today, simple as that. Terpstra did well to get 2nd, looking good for PR.

I missed what happened to Vanmarcke, and I couldn't pick it up from the Flemish commentators. How did he get gapped?
He was gapped in a third hill to the finish. Surprisingly. TV did not show, so we are left to think that it was a mechanical.

Thanks, I assumed it was a mechanical given the group and the size of the gap. Too bad.

Well, obviously not. But he might have been able to get away solo or in a small group on the Kwaremont or Paterberg without Kristoff. Especially if he could have worked with Stybar or Vandenbergh.

As soon as he took Kristoff with him with 40k to go he was riding for second place at best. Should have stopped the attack then and regrouped. Idiotic stuff.

Once again, poor tactics from Etixx. Terstra needed to jump with 2km to go if he wanted to win
I honoustly think it would not have mattered or changed anything. Kristoff was the strongest, he showed that on the patersberg. Any attack Terpstra would've done would amount to nothing. He was riding for 2nd place the minute he wasn't stronger on the Patersberg

This. Perfect conclusion.

Kristoff said that he and terpstra worked really well together until the final kms, but he said he totally understood that.

why the criticism? should terpstra wait for van avermat and sagan so they can outsprint him as well? also kristoff was clearly stronger.

He should've waited for a chance to use tactics and a 1% chance to win instead of being content with 2nd place

There's no "content." He set up for the sprint beautifully. Terpstra gave it his best effort and second on the day.

So Etixx is riding for 2 places in cobbles classics, he should never had worked with Kristoff to begin with. This was more about Terpstra wanted to be the king instead of Stybar !

I think he just sat too far back in the group and when things got going he was behind the split in the peloton. He then tried to bridge but it was too far and he did not make.

Sky !. All show and no go !. Kristoff a beast.

Sky rode ok if you ask me. Too much work but the real Issue was Thomas wasn't strong enough

Did they ?. G lacking the minerals big time on the big day. To much hype. Rowe and Thomas did what they could.

Hahahahahahahahaha In your face Terpstra...

Wow, pathetic.

Terpstra lost against Kristoff in a sprint, oh he failed horribly

Have you ever watched cycling before?
No this was my first ever race. But it's kind of Funny that Terpstra failed so miserably despite not doing much to cooperate.

Stop being ridiculous. Kristoff disagrees with you.

He underestimated how strong Kristoff was and by the time he realised it was to late to do anything but hope for a miracle.
