Incredible turnaround in form from Martin, although I am surprised he was so intent on getting the KOTM points. Prefer the tactics of Majka to conserve energy.

Bardet isnt exactly the most robust looking of individuals

Think dan martin is on a bit of a suicide mission, clearly just wants to get out on the attack and show himself, morale at Garmin must be very low and i guess he just couldnt face a day in the peloton when 2 years ago today he was winning a similar stage. I expect him to run out of puff near the top of the tourmalet

Noone is gonna chase. The break has this in the bag for sure.

You are probably right. Especially with the heat and the MTF finish tomorrow. A lot of good candidates in the group. Should be more exciting than yesterday.

Martin looks like Landis 2006 :D
Yesterday bad , today like a motorbike :D

The power of Guinness!
Looks like his job yesterday was mainly to shepherd Talansky to the line.

Can anyone explain to me why Demare is in the break?!

Pulling for Morabito.

Ok but in what way is he pulling? Presumably hes dropped now so wont be any use from here. Did he work on the front to get the break away initially? maybe he was trying to stay with the break over the aspin but it doesnt look like thats gonna happen unless he can somehow catch up on the descent

This and he pulled in the first km's of the Aspin.

Bardet, go home son. This is useless :(

Demare is back with the front group! Could help them gain 10-20 seconds or save energy.

He said that he could not really get going yesterday - sluggish after the rest day.

Tactics in the break will be very interesting on the Tourmalet. Although Majka is probably the favourite he might need to attack on the Tourmalet to win the stage. He will struggle to drop some of the stronger guys on that final cat 3 and if Martin is with him in the final 2km (basically flat) then he has no chance.

Martin said today that he was totally out of energy yesterday, just like Talansky. That is something that could happen after a rest-day. Probably the whole team did not use the rest-day well.

Majka looks really, really good. I think he will put the hammer down and drop everyone on Tourmalet. Maybe Martin can stay with him but I doubt it.
