Valverde does his typical sprint for third; is disappointed to learn than more than two riders were up the road.

Gallopin - former sprinter, turned puncheur who likes the cobbles. Now good enough at mountains. Firmly entering the Thomas/Kwiatkowski group of versatile riders.

Tinkov to ride for the polka-dot jersey now. Pathetic. Contador is not even going to fight like he did in 2011, when he continued to animate the race with daring attacks.

Pipe down it's the first day after one of the toughest stages in Tour history...stop being so obtuse

It's a capitualtion. Oleg was boasting about how strong the team was going to be in the tour, that he was bringing Majka to work for Contador. That could have happened today. Instead, they're racing for minor placings for the rest of the race.

Contador on Froome's wheel. Definitely going better today.

That final sprint looked good yes, but it was a sprint for nothing after an easy climb.

If he is really good he would've danced on the pedals more on the Tourmalet. He sat pretty much all the time and didn't look that great tbh.

Gallopin's a big threat to the MJ, better pull him back..
He is a threat to the "track specialist / cobbles specialist / climber / TT'ist / Lead out man / soon to be puncheur" - aka Thomas

What the hell is the point of Majka working for Contador today? Unleashing Majka and letting him win MTF is the best Tinkov can do at this point.

Team is strong, Contador isn't so they are starting to give other riders some freedom. Too late for Sagan unfortunately (only couple stages left where he can shine) but perfect timing for Majka

Good words from Majka. Looks like a fine guy to me... Based on a 30seconds interview... I know :)

Capitulation? You may eat those words later, have you ever heard the term "pick and choose your battles" ?

Because Mollema is a threat to his position in GC.

True. It remains to be seen if he can match the rest when the attacks come tomorrow.

EDIT. Saw the slo mo finish and he was grimacing even at this finish.

Ive heard the term! And Tinkov have chosen a top ten and a polka-dot jersey as their highest aspirations for this tour.

What an underwhelming stage.

Nice ride by Majka. I would love to see him have a free run at GC for a Grand Tour again.
