I'm expecting the likes of Wellens, Kelderman and Simon Yates to try on Cherave if they're feeling good. Maybe even Bardet.

Andy Schleck was second in the flèche wallone 2009, and I think quintana is a very similar rider. So I think its possible that nairo wont even do as bad as everyone expects.
quintana and andy are COMPLETELY different type of riders. still as long as quintana is placed well he won't lose much time. froome will have a harder time on mur

Froome to make Second behind Sagan or win it.

Mountain Points is 1 for 4th cat winner and 2,1 for 1rst and 2nd on 3rd cat (Is that doubled due to end of stage)?

Just a thought on tadays stage finish guys, please forgive me if i've made a dumb error. Suppose a GC guy gets involved in a crash in the run-in to the Mur inside the final 3km. Presumably he will be given the same time as the winner. But where does that leave the other GC guys who finish the stage? For example Contador could be caught up in a crash and Froome could finish, say, 4th on the stage 5 secs behind the winner and Froome would LOSE 5 secs on GC to Contador. Would be a bit controversial no?!

Some movement in the peloton and uncertainty regarding each other's intentions...
Let Trek do the job, for now.

That's not really answering the question is it, in fact I don't even know why you would put a response like that in this thread, it's a serious question about today's stage but you have to try and lower it to your depressing level

No, there shouldn't be the 3 km rule today. A classified climb is at the end.
But an exception could be made if the circumstances are specific.

Huuuge crowds at the start. Had a decent spot to see all the riders pass by to the podium, but it still sucks to stand behind stupid people who clearly watch jack *** of cycling outside July.

Anyway, Purito had bandages around left elbow but nothing around the knees. Cancellara the most popular guy followed by Greg :)

To try to give you a serious reply: If there is no 3 k rule any rider will get their real finishing time. But even if it was a 3 k rule, there is no guarantee that a rider who is blocked by a crash will get the winners time. I think there was a stage a few years back where there were a short uphill finish. The leading group split and the guys who got their time adjusted due to the 3 k rule got the same time as the last group that was in the lead at the 3 k mark. Same as yesterday, if Contador had been blocked yesterday he would probably not have gained any time :)

Valgren thinks that Sagan have a better chance winning than Contador today.

I'm picking Sagan as well.

Interesting. I must say that i've been impressed that he always seems to at the front on the steep hills, but i've not seen him be able to accelerate when they big guys go. He usually sits up and do his own tempo.
