I think between GVA and Martin for yellow, epsecially if Sagan is forced to ride for Contador. Froome should be OK - he's got some really strong cobbled riders to help him (Stannard, Rowe, Thomas) and the cobbled sections aren't very long and aren't especially tough - at least not compared with last year. I can't see Quintana losing a lot of time either; maybe 3-5 minutes on the winner of the stage, but I would guess very little compared to the other GC riders.

I expected he would try an attack before the Mur but Saxo, Etixx and Sky made sure that nothing was gonna happen before the final sprint. Astana seems poor, maybe tomorrow is redemption time. Nibali was decent, it is not his type of climb and he was not well positioned.

However, given the Team that Sky has brought there is no doubt that Froome fears tomorrow.

Yes well that is a fair point.

However, given the Team that Sky has brought there is no doubt that Froome fears tomorrow.

Froome after his transformation has done really well at steep and shortish climbs actually (Pena Cabarga, Alto de Allanadas, Blanche de Belles Filles to name a few) so todays performance wasn't that surprising. Although, to be fair, none of those aforementioned climbs were the kind of pure uphill sprint like Mur de Huy.
Tomorrow is really crucial as Quintana cant afford to lose any more time to Froome whereas Nibali and Contador must see it as a chance to gain some of it back.
Froome clearly looking the strongest right now, but I hope there are lots of twists and turns still to come.
It was only stage 3 after all.
Contador looking weak. There's a fair chance he'll peak in the third week, if that's so he is in a good striking distance. But considering he has already completed a brutal Giro, that is one big IF.

I picked Purito and Valverde for this stage, so I'm kinda happy to wake up this morning to read Purito has taken the stage.

Shocked to read the The Dawg is now in Yellow!! - I really didn't think the Huy was suited to his riding strengths, but it looks like he is in incredible form.
As everyone is saying, tomorrow will be the real litmus test for him and I really hope AC and Nib's can claw some time back and even things up a bit??
Nice to see TJ in a good position, especially considering he has a Giro in his legs as well.
C'mon Alberto.
Pity about Gerrans and I hope Cance gets to continue riding.....in fact I hope he crushes it tomorrow - maybe wishful thinking.

TJ did the Giro. He must have really flown under the radar because even procyclingstats.com don't have him listed as having done the Giro.

Vroome looked really strong today, but there is still a long way to go until the finish. Tomorrow is also going to be a good stage and it's likely that the Dawg will have to rely strongly on Yogi and the Welsh duo. Bertie was further back than I expected, but he's still not far off.

Thomas cruised in once his job for Froome was done. Sky's plan B is stage wins.

Well I hope Alberto gets stronger because if he doesn't go well I'll most likely never see another Double attempt in my lifetime and that would be sad. If he podiums at least others may get brave enough to give it a go! I've seen all the double winners save Coppi.....

Allthough op post is lame and childish, froome really went a bit nuts there. Almost causing crashes. Pushing bakelandts away. Then he also pushed Gallopin away on Huy.
He's not making friends. That could be bad, but then again Froome being assertive is kind of good for him, but also kind of awkward.

I'm no fan of Froome but on the one occasion I saw him using his elbows it was because someone was deviating into him.

He started so far back he ended up climbing the tough bits quicker than a full gas Nibali & Quintana just to get back to level with them.
