Spilak is not doing the Tour. His next race is Poland. He said so on the press conference after his TdSuisse win.

No Roche..surely a mistake, he's training with Froome every day..

But if that's true the last spot goes to Pate/Nieve/Konig and tbf having as much climbers as they do, Pate would be much better if they get yellow early so I'd choose him.

I think that list was prematurely added. It seems to have been removed as has the BBC article that was published apparently using the Sky site as its source.

Sky's team: Froome, Porte, Poels, Roche, Thomas, Kennaugh, Stannard, Rowe, Pate.

Sergio should be saved for the Vuelta. Kiryienka who is in-form is much stronger than Pate, but it's not always what's counts. A rider like Pate is near ideal as the first man used on the flat parts. I think he's good for the team dynamics. I'm also pretty sure about Rowe, the Tour is a British showdown.

As I stated before, Roche, Poels, Sergio, Nieve and König will all co-lead the Vuelta. 5 leaders in one team! Kiryienka, Siutsou, Lopez and Zandio will also be there. The Tour is all about their British riders and the Vuelta is all about their foreign riders. Unless Froome doesn't win the Tour. Then the Vuelta is plan-B.

Roche sucked big time in Dauphine. Wouldn't surprise me if he isn't going
He was very good in the Pra-Loup stage. Again, he is for the earlier parts of the MTF and the mid-mountains. Poels (remember Zoncolan?) and Porte will be Froome's last men standing.

I think the team I posted will the be final line-up. It's as well-balanced as it gets. Having too many climbers is a bad idea.

Froome as the leader.
Porte is the final man on climbs. He has to be there when there are 5-10 riders left.
Poels as the second-to-last man in the real mountains. He has to be there when there are about 10-20 riders left. And as the main man on steep hills such as Huy and Bretagne (could even win one of those if he is allowed to do so).
Roche for medium mountains, hills, catching late mountain breaks, and early to mid sections of MTFs.
Thomas for everything. Could be their road captain. The flat, cobbles, hills, catching breaks, mid-mountains, early sections of MTFs.
Kennaugh for early mountains, mid-mountains, the earliest MTF sections and catching breaks.
Rowe and Stannard for cobbles, flat, long soft mountains and gentle hills.
Pate for gentle hills, long soft mountains and flat.

That list was definitely put up by mistake but I think its there long list. Roche instead of Pate though as he has been Froome's right hand man through training.

Final spot would then seem to be between Nieve, Konig and Henao. Which is surprising as Sky would then only have Rowe and Stannard as rouleurs.

Who is stronger? Konig hasn't raced since Giro. Nieve came 2nd at Slovenie (surely should win this if he was on top form?). Henao came 11th at Suisse (one of the strongest going up Rettenbach).

Kiryienka would be my pick for the final spot.

Some of those guys, if not all of them, will co-lead the team in the Vuelta. It think it would be better with a well-balanced team. There are some demanding, windy costal stages, a TTT and one with cobbles.

Kittel decision on whether he will ride on thursday.
Degenkolb will win green if kittel doesn't ride

No, degenkolb won't go for the green jersey. http://www.eurosport.de/radsport/to...on-fur-marcel-und-mich_sto4780157/story.shtml (german)

He doesn't go for green aslong as Kittel is riding in the same team with him. So saying that Degenkolb will win green if Kittel doesnt ride is perfectly legit, allthough I doubt Degenkolb will win green.

Pretty much exactly as expected from the longlist, with Buchmann the only surprise. It will be interesting to see how he gets on - the Tour can be a tough baptism for a neo-pro climber.

Yes, maybe for the Vuelta instead of Siutsou or Zandio. Maybe Swift will also be there as a stage hunter.
