As expected, Dumoulin leaves everyone in the dust. Lets see what he can do on the MTF.
by 2seconds he beat Cancellara who's just returned from injuries and had very few race days. How is that "leaving everyone in the dust"?

Now Sagan has to smash GC to make up for it.
If Sagan can stay close enough on the fricking Rettenbachferner to win the GC here even against a meagre climbers' field, the Clinic reaction will make the 2012 Tour free-for-all look civilized.

Agreed. He would have to lose a few pounds or 10 to be anywhere near the top on such a climb.

I am an austrian and a cancellara fan, so until now this result is a little bit frustrating for me ... :(

Well, don't be frustrated. This was better than expected given the circumstances. I think he's the main favourite for Utrecht now

Well it's true. Dumoulin has surpassed Fabian. He's just better now.

Yeah today, one day. He may be the future but Fabu isn't dead yet.

Tom Dumoulin is an ITT monster. With the last ITT in my mind, he can certainly do a good GC (don't forget he was 5th last year), altough the mountain stages are maybe a bit too much for Dumoulin.

On TTs? Sure, if they have a few hard days of mountains before them. Otherwise Fabian still smokes him.
As a rider? Way too different, and despite that, Fabian will probably end his career with more GC victories on prestigious 1 week races than Tom ever will.

Last year there was no real attack on Verbier, so there were some time trialists which were really good in the gc. This year the decisive mountain stage has such a hard mtf that I don't think this will be possible this year

Dumoulin doesn't stand a chance with that kind of MTF. It's probably harder than any climb he has ever ridden in a competitive situation.
