It could if a half decent climber had 5 minutes at the base of the climb. Guys like the Yates brothers etc. Fedrigo is not a half decent climber. So no chance.

He did beat Lance to win a stage a few years ago.

This stage is a joke. What kind of parcours is this on Bastille day? Now we have got two guys in the break with absolutely 0% chance of winning.

I still give to the peloton, if there's at least 50 km left. They can take 4,5 minutes back in 15 flat km easily if they chase hard.
