Damn pity about the weather today.
So whats the food like in Croatia?
Man..we got the best cuisine..if I start to talk about this..I can write few books about it...continental region of Croatia of course has good cuisine (more recent contacts with neighboring cultures - Hungarian, Austrian and Turkish, using lard for cooking, and spices such as black pepper, paprika)..but I'm from Istria, near Italy so I will talk about the food from our coast (similar is Dalmatia..It's all mediterranean cuisine). So we have great wine, fresh fish and sea food, pasta with truffles, olive oil and of course the amazing istrian prosciutto + great coast and beautiful girls. I must said that Dalmatia is great and similiar with Pag Island cheese (sheep milk cheese) and lamb or octopus under peka*.
To explain "Peka" i will post a quote from this page (
http://en.hostelforumzadar.com/) "The main ingredients include octopus und potatoes, but the key is the peka. The ingredients, a drop of olive oil and herbs are placed in a cast-iron or earthenware pot where they slowly cook, covered with a lid with hot coals on top of it. Peka is prepared in a fireplace and it takes a couple of hours to finish. It’s a true culinary art, but well worth the wait. Luckily you can also enjoy peka with different basic ingredients. If you’ve had enough of seafood, lamb under peka is another unforgettable dish. Simply irresistible!"
I can go on and on

Primož Roglič deserves a mention for an impressive 2nd place. He is a former ski jumper (a pretty talented one) who left ski jumping because of injury. He started to do kms with the bike as part of his rehab and then quickly became the Alberto Contador of amateur races in Slovenia. He then signed a contract with Adria Mobil and is steadily improving year after year. It's his third year now as a pro and he's become a very good climber. I'm sure he has still a lot of room to improve and I can see him in a WT team in a couple years. Btw he's 25.
Roglič is really a talented young man..what a story. Miholjevic told his story to the croatian TV when they broadcast todays stage.
