Is streaming seriously illegal in US?

Only if someone owns the right (buy the right's owner sometimes allows streaming to certain customers - Universal Sports for example).

There are cycling events streamed in the US that are legal (including some by the UCI).

Not at all, as long as you're a subscriber of the station streaming. Or the station is broadcasting it without charge. Watching pay broadcasts on illegal streams is though.

We Can't pay for Eurosport, etc. here. I'd gladly do it if they provided coverage here.

i used to be able to easily free stream Eurosport - started doing it for tennis (eurosport is preferable to me over tennis channel) in 2009. in 2009 streams were decent and no virus trouble but by the time i started attempting to stream cycling in 2011, free streams live from Europe were getting dicey. Even last year about this time i was able to follow eurosport on a dodgy live stream. Now, forget it. All streams as such are blocked / unavailable.

Nice to hear you are happy with your coverage, Carols. i pay a lot per month to have direct tv which includes BeIN sport and universal network, ect, but very disappointed, as usual, in the limited cycling coverage. i suppose it has improved, but not having a live eurosport stream just sucks, imo!

hoping that BeIN comes through with complete coverage of TA and Giro but not holding my breath - especially when it comes to spring classics and ardennes  Really, really missing my pirated live streams for that...

will check here and appreciate the NBC sports links you post thanks :) i should be able to link to those since i have and pay for, , what i think being double-dipped for the additional sports package upgrades.

If one is a follower of European soccer, BeIN is excellent. (i follow La Liga) but as a cycling fan, it is frustrating.

Hello, does anybody know if NBC Sports is going offer there online pay-per-view Tour De France Live for 2015?

Dauphine
Only choice for live coverage is the NBC sports website.

For TV:
*CRITERIUM DU DAUPHINE

Sunday, June 7
Day 1, 7 p.m., NBCSN

Monday, June 8
Day 2, Midnight, NBCSN

Tuesday, June 9
Day 3, Midnight, NBCSN

Wednesday, June 10
Day 4, Midnight, NBCSN

Thursday, June 11
Day 5, Midnight, NBCSN

Friday, June 12
Day 6, Midnight, NBCSN

Saturday, June 13
Day 7, Midnight, NBCSN

Sunday, June 14
Day 8, Midnight, NBCSN

Bein was better than nothing for Giro, but only just.

They seem to have the knack of cutting away for a commercial breaks just as something starts happening.

I found their streaming service frustratingly unreliable and I don't recommend it.

At least it will be a decent stream with no commercials!

That is why I had both the beIN stream and tv show going at the same time. Along with moto 1 & 2 from RAI site :).

Of the 18 days I watched live, beIN stream was non functional 4 times. Yes you are correct they had a real stupid way of cutting to a commercial on the TV show at critical times, like when Gilbert attacked the break. Geez who decides? Obviously someone who wasn't watching the race.

They did have a great HD picture and the stream was good with no commercials. But very frustrating when it didn't work 4 days out of 18!

Anyway between the TV and 3 streams I think I saw most of the Giro :).

I've really relied on Bein a lot this spring. I can't always watch the race when it's on so it's nice to be able to go back and watch it later. Also I've been able to rewatch a few Km's for a second time that were especially good. The nice thing about going back and watching it later is also FF'ing through the commercials.

I agree that the breaks are odd and annoyingly timed, but for $10/month of unlimited access I'll take it. I paid $30 last year to watch TdF and was unhappy with the annoying commentators and the commercials, so this feels like a bargain.

We'll keep the subscription for a while, we like being able to access Universal Sports as well as Bein.

Universal has the Vuelta and Worlds so you should keep it until then at least :) I have Dish and pay $13/month for beIN/Universal package. But need to have 200 channel package to get NBCSports. So my total tv bill is $113 per month which I think is pretty ridiculous, but I get the 3 cycling channels, plus ROOT shows Utah.

I have a timer set up to record all cycling, it finds all kinds of things :).

Yes it is awesome to record all of it, rewatch and keep special stages to watch whenever you feel like it :).

That's a lot of money to pay in order to listen to the idiot commentators NBCSports has. Those guys make Sean Kelly sound like he's got a Phd in linguistics. :D

All joking aside, I pay whatever they want to watch (and record) races in HD..

NBC sports is using a lone announcer for the Dauphine. I don't know his name, he's capable enough but there's really something to be said for having a partner in the booth.

I thought he was just fine....don't know who he is but a nice change from P&P and Kirby et al.

The two commentators are Steve Schlanger and Christian Vande Velde.

He meant the NBCSN stream. There is a lone British gent calling that. Steve and CVV are on the tv broadcast which is Hours after the stream. If you either watch live or go watch the replay on NBCSN connect page you will get the unnamed British guy.

They Still don't have today's stage up for replay I have only seen the last 10km on youtube so far :(

I've been away so I"m just catching up, but it is looking like NBC has really dropped the ball on this one, I'm at the Live Extra site and the TdF isn't part of it?

Wow I just checked this out. You have to Buy it even if you are an NBCSN subscriber. Talk about double dipping! I'm watching it on TV.....

This will be my first Tour that I start watching at home, where I have a choice of Dutch, Belgian, or Eurosport coverage, and will finish watching in the US, where I will have........whatever. At the very least it will be a unique experience since I'll be watching the final weekend with my equally Tour mad son.
