Excellent performance by the American. Porte pulled a Froome with good team support. Alberto had to go early to ot get worked over by Sky, but perhaps missed the opportunity when he didn't go with TJ.

If he had gone with TJ...TJ would not have helped him at all

Without that big turn from Kiriyenka Porte would not have caught up with Contador....looks like Contador just wanted test his legs for the last time before Giro

If you look when Contador passed Kiri Porte was just 5 seconds behind and closing, he'd have caught him anyway.

Contador !!!!!! THE KING
Calm down...Porte dropped him the ease

Not with ease, but because he is very good and had paced himself with the help of teammates. Whereas Contador was left on his own and had to invent something. The climb wasn't hard enough and in the end Porte came back with the help of Kirienko and had enough punch to drop Contador in the last hundred meters.

It was a rubbish final climb for a Queen stage.

Nah, I don't think so. But with Sky and BMC well represented I think he possibly hesitated going too early with TJ to then not risk being worked over by these teams. Or perhaps he just f-kd up?

worst. video. coverage. EVER.
?????

Mine was OK.

picture quality fine - i meant the choice of which camera(s) were in use. actually, i am just whining about porte's attack dropping - or catching by surprise - contador at the VERY END of the race.

having spent 6 decades refining my whining skills, i have to make sure they are still available to me on demand. :)

yeah Porte looked very easy lol except for the fact that he tried to follow Contador when Contador attacked and failed big time ...without Kiriyenka he would never have caught Contador..it was really windy in the climb
And contador couldn't go with Porte when Porte went...Dropped with ease
