Great lead-out by van winden, but van asbroeck fails again.
Nah, the lead out was not fast enough, so the sprinter had to go from way too far out.

Van Asbroeck had no power left... could barely pass Van Winden. Tank was empty.

Talking of Dutch sprinters, why does Terpstra suddenly think he is one?
He won the Dutch champs in a mass sprint..

I know. Yet he also couldn't beat Ian Stannard in a sprint. Sure he can win one once in a while (and the Dutch RR was a shameful day for the sprinters in the winning move with him), but to think he was better than all the sprinters there is getting a little optimistic.

Terpstra's greedy self

Trek's youngsters start winning all of a sudden... hopefully it keeps going! I always thouht they should focus more on races with weaker fields, they can do some real dammage there

Van asbroeck goes for the sprint with only 170m, that is not too far out, and van winden and van asbroeck were around p-20-30 with 500 metres to the finsh but the dutchman did a great effort to pass all the riders.

A guy with the name Van Poppel should not focus on weaker fields :p

It's not that surprising he wins this specific sprint though. He is really strong in uphill sprints. He has shown that also in the TdWallonie.

Just saw the replay of the sprint. I don't know if it was intentional, but of it was, it was a great piece of positioning. Van Poppel came out of the slipstream of Degenkolb, to get the wheel of van Asbroek, but instead of charging through full gas, he seemed to wait a few moments, and those moments Degenkolb did not have anywhere to go, while van Poppel could accelerate past van Asbroeck anytime he pleased. Great sprint!

van poppel done good that sprint was just chaos. So close for the breakaway was a prime chance to hold on.

Situation is like completely uncomparable. Besides a sprint there was nothing in common.

I have no idea why lottonl got van Asbroeck. I thought it was an classics prospect or something, but apparently for the sprint. The guy isnt even close to top 10 material. So much better options for a sprinter.
