"Mentally it's tough, I am struggling to finish the Vuelta. Everything went bad the day I crashed on that roundabout at 40 kph. I won't be unhappy when it's over in Madrid. My season will end there."

Nico Roche there not exactly talking up his chances of winning this one from the break.

Speaking of the breakaway, Haimar Zubeldia's old yearbook from high school has surfaced:

I assume that Movistar will try today well every darn day and maybe the likes of Saxo and Astana are playing the waiting game.
The attacks will come, it will be CARNAGE

The way Unzue has been talking suggests they will be happy with both Valverde and Quintana on the podium. 2nd and 3rd.

I cannot imagine that Astana, powerhouse that they are, will just sit around until Saturday to try to take a lousy 4 seconds and the race lead. They will try something. Meanwhile that break has some strong riders in it! But we could easily have 2 races again :).

Tom should crash every stage from here on out so that the etiquette of racing will stop Astana from attacking. Easy game.
