didn't purito tweet that he was gonna attack orso? LOL

Technically it's still an attack at 1000 meters to go. It isn't until around 200-500 that it becomes a sprint. ;)

If Purito had the legs he would have attacked. He didn't attack so therefore he doesn't have the legs to do anything.

It's funny, I quite like Aru and his balls out attitude, but seeing this really is disheartening. At the end of the day, there is nothing more I love more in cycling than a surprise of this level, and I'm getting Voeckler flashbacks here.

This only reinforces my hatred for sprint-focused teams. Giant had already cut Barguil's wings through their obsession with the flat. Now this. Become a complete team, as all of your tier should be, or frankly, go to hell.

Majka can get 2nd if Purito isn't responding.
He'd have more of a chance if he actually took a turn at the front. He's more interested in defending against Nairo.

Is Purito so weak that he doesnt try to follow Nairo? He really isnt that far behind Aru so why not.

Majka shoud work with Quintana. They have half a minute on Purito. A minute more and they would both be on the podium...

Purito realized that there was no way he could ride away from Landa & Aru, on a non steep climb and then arrive with 1.30 on its own, given 15 km of flat and downhill

I see the Dutch brigade is already dropping Aru clinic hints. :D
I fear that they convinced themselves Dumoulin was going to win; against most available evidence.

Im not sure about who you guys are talking now.

Im sure when DT and Classicomano return they throw a tantrum, but I havent seen any silly nationalism on here today.
Allthough even DT hasnt been ridiculous about Dumoulin. Only classicomano was being ridiculous.
I'm not referring to anyone specifically. I've just seen a lot of posts in the last few days very confident that Dumoulin would hang on; it was never likely on a stage with 3800m+ climbing; especially given his weak team.

I know that was silly.

Nah it's not that. He would have attacked if he could.

Quite amazing how lonely dumuolin has been left... Usually when the leader is dropped there is always the 4th or the 7th or someone else in the GC helping him out... he is just left on his own ..

all the GC are in front, and valverde pozzovivo etc have no interest

If Majka can't get Purito's 2nd place, he can blame himself

Dumoulin could possibly fall out of the top 5 here if Nieve feels strong on the final climb

He is dropping out of Top5 and Nieve has no role in it...

Aru, Majka, Quintana, JRod, Chavez, Moreno
