Etixx doing the chasing then. So assuming Dan Martin & Alaphilippe
survive the cat 1 Col du Noyer
, which is supposed to be pretty brutal, they obviously fancy their chances of a stage win on the puncheur friendly finish.

I really really hope Alaphilippe in particular can survive Col du Noyer, because I worry he might get dropped there.

Yesterday's stage was harder and he beat Froome home
Can't remember how many times I have read some really dreadful comment on here that said Dan martin is not a climber nor how many times I have argued with biased posters who constantly told me Dan martin has no class or is over rated or can't climb

Folks he is a contender so stop talking as if he is not

While at the same time bigging up riders who have won nothing to date ..and who never will

I'll meet you half way.

In his current form, yes, I think Dan Martin will survive Noyer today, even if it's ridden fairly hard. I'm more worried about Alaphilippe surviving it.

What I will say though is that I never have faith in Dan Martin sticking with the best climbers when push comes to shove in stage races. At some point he usually blows up. It also doesn't help that often he's had trouble staying on his bike just when he looks good for a result :D

I quite like Dan Martin, and I always want him to do well. It's just that over the years I've learnt to lower my expectations of him for the reasons cited above.

Ok ...I do concede that Martin has not been the strongest when it comesot health and staying on his bike (alot of that has to do with luck in many circumstances)

but there is no denying his climbing ability and speed

Of course over 3 weeks he may get sick again and he has not the greatest TT but these 2 things aside he can beat anyone in week stage race imo

P.S. No relation to Dan Martin :D

Btw HelloDolly. I've just noticed your location. You're not Dan's wife by any chance ;)

Anyway, I wish Dan well. Gutsy rider. Love watching him in the classics in particular.

Dan Martin is engaged to a British Olympic runner

In fact nearly all the Irish pros cyclists are engaged to or married to top British women athletes including Philip Deignan to Lizze Armistead

Enrico Gasaparotto and Bjorn Thurau -both of the Wanty Groupe Gobert team, did not start the stage. They reportedly were stopped after tests revealed they had low cortisol levels.

I doubt about Purito. He never quit a race if there are no problems.

I fear...

I doubt as well, but just doubts
