So, can we say Cummings has wrapped it up?

Nearly 5 minutes is a big lead, but Noyer is a tough climb, hopefully he's saved a little in reserve. It also depends if we have any GC action too
He needs to tackle it within his limits, and we know he knows how to pace himself. We'll see if he invested too much in the valley.

Great work, Praying Mantis. It's a solid stage presentation.

Much obliged, yo. It's not ideal to do these posts in the middle of a thread though, it seems three posts later people come in asking for the very info I'm trying to provide... Anyway, gonna take a break for a while. Let's see what plays out on them climbs today.

These really useful posts would be much more useful (because they will be easily found) if we had a thread for each stage: I wish we had for these higher profile week-long races.

Cummings is really strong. He would actually be a very nice addition to the Sky team, but obviously he's doing well at DDD.

When was the last time you saw him do any work for anybody? Like Gougeard he hates to be anywhere near the front, and the only time he goes there is to attack. Not to mention he was one of Sky's first season signings and didn't get on with the team. I say he could be one of the elite one-week racers, perhaps even three-week if he'd started road racing earlier, but he just doesn't have the mentality to go for it.

Cummings at Sky would be almost as cruel as putting a wild animal in a zoo. Such an exciting rider for going on epic late/solo attacks and taking stage wins.

Sky would soon shackle him and put paid to all of that. Why would a rider given the freedom to hang off the back of the peloton most days until he fancies trying something suddenly want to be put to work as just another strong dom?
