Rosa did pretty well in the Pais Vasco TT too, even more so considering his massive solo the day before. What time does he start? If the last riders have worse weather, and he starts pretty early, he could score a great result.
Edit: he starts 13:02

Very hard to predict the prologue. 1. Because it's such an unusual stage. I can't ever recall a steep uphill prologue. All things being equal, I'd probably say Purito - but when was he last in good nick? 2. All the big guns have been out of racing for months, so it's impossible to work out who is in good form.

I think even undercooked, Froome and Contador should place fairly well.

But I reckon Pinot - on baseless, speculative intuition.

I reckon top 30 will include in no particular order:

AG2r: Romain Bardet, Alexis Vuillermoz,

Astana: Fabio Aru, Diego Rosa, Luis Leon Sanchez,

BMC: Richie Porte,

Canondale: Pierre Rolland,

Cofidis: Daniel Navarro,

Dimension Data:Igor Anton, Daniel Teklehaimanot,

Etix: Julian Alaphilippe, Daniel Martin,

FDJ: Thibaut Pinot, Joaquim Rodriguez,

Lotto: Tony Gallopin,

Movistar: Daniel Moreno, Ruben Fernandez, Dayer Quintana,

Orica: Adam Yates,

Sky: Chris Froome, Sergio Henao, Michal Kwiatkowski, Mikel Landa, Wout Poels,

Tinkov: Alberto Contador, Yuri Trofimov, Robert Kiserlovski, Roman Kreuziger,

Trek: Bauke Mollema

Important riders:

Thibaut Pinot (Fra) FDJ 12:42:00
Christopher Froome (GBr) Team Sky 12:45:00

Mikel Landa Meana (Spa) Team Sky 13:29:00

Sergio Henao (Col) Team Sky 14:13:00

Fabio Aru (Ita) Astana Pro Team 14:30:00
Alberto Contador (Spa) Tinkoff Team 14:33:00
Richie Porte (Aus) BMC Racing Team 14:34:00
Wouter Poels (Ned) Team Sky 14:35:00

Could a flying Lil'Richie catch a struggling Contador? Probably a bit too short.

I'm not hating on anyone. Yeh dictators and rapists etc, but no cyclists.

Ofcourse I do prefer some over others. I don't have much love for the dominant Sky GT machine which buys all good riders and rides very calculated, unlike the Sky cobbled squad which I do like. I took that squad a while before they figured the calculated way of riding doesn't work in the cobbles, but they certainly don't ride calculated anymore on the cobbles and they also don't have a dominant ££££ squad on the cobbles.

I know I probably shouldn't reply and at some point you'd probably give up, but you are actually quite funny :D

I'm secretly hoping that both Froome and Contador have to stop in the middle of the ITT to relieve congested bowels.
