******, there were no clear gaps between riders so the time should be the same. Berto got screwed over there but at least he keeps the lead.

Yes, where are people getting this "AC lost 4 secs to Froome"? I think they're on the same time.
They're getting it from the GC.

Strange tactics from SKY... Useless attacks by Kwiato, Landa and Henao. Poels did even worse than Kwiatkowski, dropping from main group when he should be fighting to stay on high place.

There was a gap between Contador and the rider right in front of Contador. Definitely looked like a big enough gap to justify the time loss.

Let's see what Contador does in the mountains, but not looking that good so far in a cat 3.

Ikr got outsprinted so hard. Clearly he's back to 2013 level.

ugh your crying all the time. there were definitely gaps. the orica rider for instance was a few seconds behind clearly and there were more. the time keeps running and once a gap it might be 6 or 8 seconds. contadors own fault

A bit chaotic.
While Froome and Contador are sizing themselves up, Movistar's winning. Maybe the Tour pattern.
Wouldn't say the tempo on climbs was that high, many attacks and different teams turning at the front.
At least we could see who was able to follow acceleration near the finish.

But I don't think that's the gap they chose, Richie finished in front of Contador I think? And he's still at 6s.

In all fairness he lost the time on the flat-ish end and it doesn't really show anything. If Contador had dropped then yes but he was fine. Let's see first tomorrow and then Meribel especially.

One theory is Froome isn't feeling great yet and is letting the boys have free rein this week.

Herrada win is obvious... hopefully.

I got Gallopin > GVA @ 2,70 (!!!) and Gasparotto > Balaphil @ 2,75. Lets go!

It was more than obvious.

All hail Jesus. I love you.

Alberto is never good on this sort of finish, so no worries. He needs either a long climb at these gradients (~6%) or 1km at very steep gradients (10+%). Not 1km at 6% with a flat final ~300m.

Where did Alaphillipe finish? Gaspa looked about 15th or so. 2/3 for sure, is it 3? Either way, congrats

Apparently it was Martin, not Gaspa in 11th. So 2 out of 3 it is.

Meanwhile, Aru lost 19 seconds on the other contenders. He looks almost as bad Nibali did in Trentino. Also Bertie and Froome have the same time in stage but not on GC? Did Froome get some bonus seconds along the road somehow or is it wrong

Exactly. By the end climb was over and Contador didn't struggle on the actual climb.
