With 5 km of flat roads left I thought he should just give up because the sprinters teams would just mow him down any time they liked

Great win by Aru!
Sporza comms arguing about that handsling. Wuyts expects a penalty, De Cauwer says "no big deal" and bets on another "rien a signaler" from the jury just like with Bouhanni :D

Wtf happened? How has Aru managed to win this stage? Was it a late attack? I didn't watch. I opened my stream and it was Aru being interviewed...wtf.

Aru shipped 20+ seconds yesterday but can hold off the ENTIRE PELETON TODAY???

There is no way he can hold off, Giant, Cofidis, Katusha who were all fully committed and its a joke. You could see from the helicopter shots that they were 2 close.

I'm so annoyed because he doesn't deserve that victory since he got sooooo much help from the camera bike.

Cav spoke about this recently how unfair it is.

Either the slipstream was outrageous or something else was helping him.
Because there is no way that should have happened!

Kwiat is so strange, nowadays he is just a "normal rider"

He is just so freaking inconsistent. One day he destroys everybody like World Championships or E3 or AGR and on others he barely finishes the race. Sadly the latter is more common these days ... exact opposite of Sagan who is ALWAYS in the mix but rarely wins nowadays.

* Entire peloton ? Much doms were dropped or diminished from the last climb
* Thus they werent fully commited to the chase. You have seen that the peloton struggled to organize the chase. Quite technical descent helped the lonely man.
* I did not really see like 6/7 riders from Katusha/Cof/Giant leading the peloton, that means there were not full forces to chase him down.
* Unexpected, crazy, strange maybe, but respect that awesome ride from the guy who took 21" on a longer climb yesterday. Not the same profile at all, GC teams were riding fast yesterday and faced many attacks. That one looked though on the steepest part but thats it. He clearly attacked at the right moment. Best evidence that ypu can't compare it to yesterday climb ? Bouhanni, Bennet, Kristoff were still there today. So don't even try the "there is something going wrong" talk.

He was caught behind the crash of Bardet and his teammate near the end of the stage. It wasn't due to any lack of fitness/form.

Come on, that was simply a great ride from Aru. How could you possibly not have enjoyed watching that? I bet even Kristoff and Bouhanni's families would find that stage entertaining

Also credit to EBH, finished 5th despite getting caught up in that late crash

what a ride. Amazing performance by Aru. Say what you want but the way this guy rides and attacks everywhere no matter if the terrain suits him or not is just great. I didnt watch the stage live, but this time it was totally worth it :D

I didn't say they'd enjoy it, I said they'd admit it was entertaining
