I'm disappointed with Van Baarle. I thought he was going to fight for GC after good showing during Tour of Britain, but even when he doesn't fight for anything he rarely finishes this low on ITT stages.

He was too late at the start podium, just like Kiryienka & Baska.
By how much was he late? Afterall, he lost only 50 seconds on the winner.

I thought Sporza said 10 seconds.

What the Jasha Sutterlin!

Expected much better from Tom Dumoulin. Tony Martin not to be found either, Cance retiring.. change of the guards.
In Dumoulin's case, this route wasn't really in his favour. Martin, on the other hand, should have liked the flatness, although he's never been especially good in shorter time trials. Anyway, both were top favourites along with Dennis, and only one of the three delivered.

Tom won this TT in 2014.. Just a very bad performance for his standards today.

He said he missed sharpness. The will to kill the TT, to kill the corners etc.
Maybe he intentionally held back though.

Strong performance by Dennis. Nice team performance by LottoNL-Jumbo with 3 riders in top6. Can they challenge BMC, Etixx and Movistar in the TTT...what do you think? It will be difficult in my opinion but they can place in the top5.
I think they can challenge Etixx and be close to Movistar, BMC is just the strongest team. With Campenaerts and Vanmarcke maybe...

Yeah, I remember. He was likely a few kg's heavier back then, as well ;)

TT emphasised Dennis is favorite for the World Championship.
Not sure about favourite, but he'll be up there. Dumoulin, Kiriyenka and especially Martin only get better as the course gets longer. Dennis is starting to look like the sub-15km TT king though, judging by his results since last year.

i really don't get Dennis TT capability

he is small and his aero position is dubious at most, not to say very bad

probably he puts huge amount of watts to compensate for the rest

He's 1.82 and weighs like 70 kgs - not exactly small in my book

the guy is over 70 kg, how is that small?

They will get caught within the last 300m, I think.

edit: trend is that they'll hold with a few seconds

edit:^^ lol, that was before they stopped going full gas up front. Great for the overall that Sagan won.
