Unbelievable that not a single rider in the peloton wanted to follow Betancur. Why not try something?

If only QS didn't have 5 guys to chase him down or somebody has balls to go with him

Ah.Thanks.However 2013 featured Colonster instead of RAF and it was a bit better.
Are there any alternative climbs around Liege?
Côte d'Embourg, Côte de Henne, Côte de Boncelles (I think they could descend Boncelles after RAF and then climb Colonster to try to break up the rhythm of those chasing any attacks on RAF as a potentially good option). Another option if they moved the finish back into Liège city rather than in Ans would be RAF - Côte de Henne - Côte de Romsée - descent finish (or this new cobbled one if they so wish). I'm sure they'd probably prefer the steeper La Lemmetrie or La Haute-Folie instead of Romsée though, but that might neuter racing until that point as both are very steep and similarly close to Liège as RAF is but without the option of St-Nic as they're on a different side of town, and turn it into the new San Sebastián route that's killed Jaizkibel stone dead in terms of action. Another option would be to beef up the middle part of the race and then go La Redoute - Les Forges - Henne north - Colonster - St Nic.
