Alexis Gougeard just abandoned :(.

Greipel too. I know Greipel was already carrying injuries, but no idea why Gougeard abandoned. Shame as he sounded strong on the stage that was cancelled due to snow.

I wish one of the GC guys had gone crazy ...juts for a change

Blame ASO for that. Ventoux at 120km from the finish. Put it at 60 and people will go crazy

Wondering which team is gonna close that gap, I mean, Theuns is gone so there is no danger for the GC anymore.

EDIT: Forgot Duchesne.

Bouhanni is coming back soon. If Cofidis manages to chase, it is in the bag for him.

I don't know who designed this stage but I think I could nearly do better

At least end on top of the last cat 2 to make up for the loss of stage 3
Agreed, but to be fair to them, they couldn't deny the town its paid for finish..

Don't think he's gonna come back + survive those remaining climbs.
Maybe Orica takes their responsibility cause Matthews has a good chance of winning this stage.

EDIT: Orica is chasing.

re AG2R : Gougeard has the flu and they have a plan with Bardet in the final indeed

"Gougeard sukkelde met griep, waardoor hij echt niet meer voortkon. Voor in de finale hebben we een plannetje bekokstoofd onze kopman Bardet.
Ploegleiding AG2R "

Bunch has no more than 3 minutes it seems on Bouhanni etc?

Jesus Herada is a dangerous man, he can climb very well
Agreed. Expecting him to win today given how things evolved. Could be brought back to help Ion, but doubt the GC men will make any moves. But then again, it's 30k from the top of the last climb to the line. Probs gonna be a sprint after all.

where you have this, Sporza shows almost 4 minutes...and has the same difference between the escapes and the bunch

This stage blows. How can anyone argue differently? In a beautiful reagion, with a great mountain and you opt to place it 100 plus ks from the finish and then have 30 k of flat terrain before the finish? It's just ridiculous, especially after the stage that wasn't. While it's true that couldn't have been forseen, but would it not have been better to have had a less significant day on stage 3 to have something better the day you ride M. Ventoux???

I hate to say it, but why do the French insist on designing par courses that weren't even good for 30 years ago?

In that case we could still see fireworks. Once Bardet goes surely others will follow?

They might be wrong, because the gap with the breakaway is now 2.30.
