I wouldn't be surprised if they do, but I hope you're wrong. The echelons stage last year made it very unlikely that Quintana would be able to beat Froome. A repeat this year would really suck.

Good stuff with the wind tomorrow. Hoping for carnage and GC impact when lotto and the hotsteppers put the hammer down. Carnage when heading towards Utah beach, not sure if thats entirely fitting, but anyway this is just sport.

Go Coquard.

If Sky's and Tinkoff's flat men are at the front as well it could be carnage.

No. Sky will lose time

I find that very unlikely. Looking at the teams Movistar seems to be the weakest team regarding echelons.
Besides not everyone can be at the front so I'll garantee you that there will be GC riders losing out and I fear for crashes.

It's racing though. This truly is the hardest sport of them all.
First of all because it's crazy hard to ride a 3 week stage race and 2nd of all because it's most likely one of the most dangerous sports in the world.

Surely they are missing Benatti and Rogers, but given AC and Tossato's experience, they should pick the right moment. The difficulty will be staying at the front of the peloton where EVERY team with GC/stage ambitions (read: ALL) will want to be all day. I wonder which teams have REALLY done their homework....less than 6 hours until they roll off :)

Almost no chance of rain, but wind will be an issue along the coast.
Reading between 4-6Bft.

But I believe the code word is "Benna, venga venga!", not sure that'll work :(

Re: 2016 TdF, Stage 1: Mont-Saint-Michel → Utah Beach (188km

Lets hope it really blows! Stage 2 last year was so exciting! Etix, Tinkoff, Sky, BMC and Lotto are the strongest teams to deal with the wind. It will be interesting to see how Movistar, Astana, and Data etc deal with it if it does. But we know Etix and Tinkoff are experts at this! Sky should be alright considering Froome generally rides towards the front and they have just a few average riders in Stananard, Rowe , Thomas and Kiri

I'll meet you in the middle: both teams will lose time :D .

I think FDJ and AG2R are going to dominate the peleton and Pinot is going to take yellow with a 14 minute gap on the other GC riders!
