Why every thread has to turn to this Contador BS???

I cannot even go to the Quintana thread because there is Contador BS as well!!

He has been on the same Tours as Froome and Quintana hasn't he?

Contador thread clearly failing to contain all the Contador nonsense in one location. Regrettable.

When it's full, it starts to spill over.

maybe the dullness of this tour has something to do with it. ppl are just wishing there was someone to add some excitement. whomever would add that is missing. usps ver 3.1

Well, he was there and he added excitement.
Though, it wasn't excitement we've been hoping for.
It's really absurd lamenting.

I think what this Tour has been missing is GC riders battling for stage win which creates a feeling that something is missing. There has been almost none besides Froome descent.

it's a plague. Stayed away from here for a couple of weeks and came back more than a week after he abandoned and still it's in full swing

Not sure the Contador of now would make much of a race of this either.

It needed the Contador of 2014 for that.

Terrible race overall. I can't wait for it to end.

Yeah nice one and precise one, +1 for me
I also can add that Aru dissapointed me also

Valverde demonstrating just what the consequences are for a top 10 on GC making an attack against a team that still has 3 or 4 domestiques left. Dan Martin did well to hold on after his failed attack. Stages likely to become even more neutralised and conservative after this. The only guy in the top 10 that Sky might let go again is Porte (a thanks for services rendered) but everyone else will just be shut down. Astana tried to break the Sky stranglehold at least, so hats off to them.

Spot on! They're controlling this race entirely.

Nihil novi sub sole, it has been like that for years.
I can't say that is was the greatest stage ever, I'm happy for Zakarin but I was still cheering for Pozzovivo (He said that he overccooked himself at the start of the race when he tried to infiltrate every single breakaway attempt before the right one finally went). :D
Astana, Porte and even Dan Martin tried something and Valverde did a great job as a superdomestique.
Froome has the whole race in the bag, only crashes or something like that could stop him.
Still, 10 years ago I watched a waaay better stage. :p

Going from today's stage, barring a crash, Froome and Sky have this wrapped up. LRP leading Froome to the finish was deja-vu - just needed an illegal energy gel! :)

And if there is a crash, the stage will be neutralized!

Must be a load of Yates bad day predictors still waiting.

He's never had a bad climbing day in a race he's targeting yet.

Has only had one squeaky day so far and was the 'best of the rest' again today. If he's still up there after tomorrow, would be interesting to see if he becomes more aggressive. I get the feeling he's not a naturally conservative rider

Recorded today's stage and was looking forward to it. Was glad I was able to fast forward and have decided to record the rest of the stages instead of watching them live. Maybe I have seen too many Grand Tours (been watching 25+ years now), but TdF is getting more and more dull last couple of years. Hightlight of the season is april and may and it's downhill from there :-(

Even Quintana and Bardet look conservative behind the Froometrain. It's a TDF thang.

Yates has been the biggest revelation so far. I kinda expected Mollema to be top 5 - there seems to be a dutchie there or thereabouts in every GT these days (which reminds me, where's Bobby G these days?) and Mollema has been a solid top 10 rider. Now Yates I didn't expect to see step up in such a dramatic manner. I had my question marks but he seems to be the real deal. Gonna have to pay attention from now on.

Apparently Shane Archbold hit a wall at 67 km/h and fractured his pelvis. He finished the stage though, despite having the final climb still to go, because he's a lunatic.

Good to see Zakarin win in this fashion, especially after his nasty stack at the Giro. Good skills zipping up his jersey on a 10% gradient also.

Zakarin winning was about the only good thing to come out of today, good to see him in form after that Giro crash.
