Rai just said they were told that "Quintana has had allergy problems since 3-4 days before the start of the Tour, but today he'll be OK because it' likely that it will rain so dust and pollen will be reduced"
...uh?

Rain works for my dust/pollen allegies.

So is Yates bluffing, having a bad day, or still recovering from the effort of getting back to the pack?

Either way it seems the race for the white jersey is on.

Meanwhile on German Television, the commentor is reporting every breath and fart of Buchmann. Bloody hell.
On German TV? German comentator? Coments on German rider?

Bloody hell, in what times we must live.

Damn. Not much more to say. Hopefully the Hayman approach works for him. It would be devastating if he can't make it to Rio.

Nice to see Astana attacking after a mechanical once again. It's hard to ever to root for an Astana rider.

They've been doing pace for last 70-80km I think.

Exactly. The race doesn't shouldn't stop everytime someone stubs their toe.

The race had stopped. Astana was coasting. The gap was over 4 mins. Once Yates had the mechanical they upped the pace and halved the gap to 2 mins in just a few kms.

That's your interpretation and, maybe, in this particular instance, you are right (I didn't note closely). But it inevitably leads to questions over which riders the peloton is or isn't supposed to wait for. As far as I'm concerned if you weren't going to wait for a flat by rider X on stage one, there is no particular reason to wait for a flat by rider X in stage 20.
As it was Yates got back on fairly handily.

Some teammate need to increase the pace in order to drop Yates. If Matthews is there, this is too gentle.

Is he suffering though? Or just doing what he's done most of the Tour uphill and stay at his pace at the back of the group.
