Well, his DS did want him to still be there. Perhaps they did want him to work for Kreuziger and Majka and generally be a presence in the race. Actually doing his job, rather than riding solo himself around Lugano for the next two weeks.

Said who? I hear an on the road interview with Yates and he said no such thing.

For the past week everyone's been saying Contador should quit and focus on the Vuelta. No he's done it, people are saying he's a quitter and probably won't even get to ride the Vuelta. Reminds me of Aesop's fable about the man and the boy taking a donkey into town.

Contador repaying Kreuziger with gratitude all the years of loyality when he has finally chance?

You're a moron.

he might be a moron, but he isnt wrong...if a leader doesnt have the legs,he could still be usefull - valverde can do it,nibali can do it

especially in case of kreuziger who has been his domestique for years
He should clearly jeopardize his own health when there's barely a thing he could do as a domestique.
I'm not saying that dropping out isn't the right thing to do, but lots of domestiques fight on to stay in the race no matter how ill they are and they aren't exactly jeopardizing their health.

I doubt it is the same people saying it. The detractors are coming out of the woodwork, as expected.

Where is Landa on the climbs ?? Is there something wrong with him

I think he wishes he was Contador right now
Probably Landa it thinking about Vuelta. Why would he still be there, team don't need him, they have enough support plus other riders have better shape right now. His star is falling, anyway.

Landa can be a threat to Contador at the Vuelta if he has enough easy days in July.

It was pretty clear from the conversations Contador kept having with the team car, and the frosty reception he got when he quit. Yates probably not stupid or disrespectful enough to criticize a colleague in public about something like that - it seems that Tinkoff have enough problems in-house without adding fuel to the fire.

In other words based totally your interpretation and perception of events.

The difference though is that Nibali and Valverde have already gotten to target the GC in a GT this year.

Lol wtf is Sagan doing? Targeting the sprint? Sorry if this has been covered--I only tuned in right before Contador abandoned.
And the stage win.
He won't win this stage
Well, with this big gap to the peloton, he should give it a go, he might end up in front of the peloton, which would mean extra points in the battle for green.

He's likely been told to save it for the Ventoux.
